Reaching the construction site for the queen’s palace, you are met by Dobrik of the Queen’s Guard. He’s a Dwarf and former member of the Heroes Guild. Dobrik grunts when he sees you. - Servants of Azema (GS-ADV2)

Yonlok and Dobirk were once friends, before the conflict between Queen Gimnax and the Dragul.

“Yonlok and I were once dear friends, and the Bugbear were good neighbors to the Dwarves. I’m afraid that friendship is gone now. Things will only grow worse from here.” - Dobrik - Ascending Kethra's Steppe (GS-ADV4)

In Sabek, as you exit Queen Gimnax's tent, you notice a crowd of agitators gathering outside. Dobrik points out their leader, a Bugbear named Yonlok.

• You quell the disturbance in service of the queen:
  • You successfully force Yonlok to flee into an alley.
  • Yonlok slashes you across the chest before making his escape.
• You come to Yonlok's aid in support of the Dragul:
  • You face off against Dobrik, buying Yonlok enough time to avoid arrest.
  • Dobrik knocks you to the ground, but Yonlok is able to get away.

Following several encounters with the undead, Dobrik offers to gather reinforcements and head to the hive, hoping to find Imbri, the Immortal Knight.

During an encounter with giant spiders in the Hive, you find Dobrik is one of the Dwarves held captive.

• Successfully fight off the spiders.
• Your are forced to retreat, leaving the Dwarves to their fate.

During the battle with the spiders, Dobrik may get poisoned by one of their bites. - Explorer's Guide (GS-Guide-ADV3-15)

If he survives the bite, he finds himself weakend and in need of help. He heads home to Lorkeim to see a healer that he trusts.

If he was not as fortunate, his story ends here. His death will be the last straw for the Dwarves. Blaming the Insectoids, they will plan an assault of the hive to avenge his death. - The Scrying Pool (GS-Epilogue)

Assuming that Dobrik survived the giant spiders, you next find him in the village of Lorkheim. It has been burned to the ground by local Bugbear, He is rallying the survivors to help those still trapped in the nearby mines.

• Rush to help Dobrik and the others.
  • Manage to rescue the trapped miners.
  • Fail in your attempts and return horribly burned.
• See what you can find while the Dwarves are distracted.
  • Find something of value.
  • Get caught and attacked by the survivors.

Had you visited the Bugbear encampment earlier, you may have been accepted as one of their own. This does not sit well with the Dwarves. They consider you a traitor and untrusted.

• Rush to the mine with Dobrik and help the Dwarves.
• Draw your weapon on Dobrik and potentially strike him down.

Assuming Dobrik did survive his encounter with the giant spiders, he will be seen fighting near the abdomen of the Colossus, Dobrik will prove to be a key combatant during the Battle of the Arcazion Pit. As the fighting intensifies, he may find himself in a confrontation with his former friend Yonlok.

Dobrik's history is a collection of stories and myths. It is often difficult to tell the truth from fantasy when it comes to his involvement in the Battle of the Arcazion Pit.

• Some historians believe that Dobrik never fought in the battle, instead succumbing to the venomous giant spider bite he sustained.
• Others claim he fought valiantly in the Arcazion Pit, eventually dying from wounds sustained.
• Still others tell of his efforts to see the rebuilding of Lorkeim following the Bugbear attacks.

At first, Queen Gimnax refused to divert resources to such an effort. She was in the midst of a civil war, after all. But Dobrik convinced her that it was important to send a message to the rest of Ulos: The Dragul destroy towns; the queen rebuilds them. - The Scrying Pool (GS-Epilogue)
